What we are looking for:

We are looking for new Trustees to strengthen the existing board, develop services further and work with the Management to help drive the charity forward.

We have identified areas of particular expertise and skill sets, which we feel will help to strengthen and grow the existing Board.

Skill Gaps/Examples

Legal: Charity/Company Law/Contract Law/Employment Law

Personnel: Knowledge of Employment Legislation/Personnel Management

Networking: Links with the Private Sector/Public Sector/Media

Fundraising: Idea’s and links for Fundraising from various sources

Whilst these identified areas will be beneficial to the board, they are not a necessary requirement for an applicant. Additionally, a Deaf connection and/or an understanding of the Deaf Community would be advantageous, but not a necessity.

The Commitment:

  • 6 Board meetings a year, lasting on average 2 hours. However, the volume and length of meetings are flexible to meet the needs of the charity.
  • An annual AGM
