FRONTLINEdance is a one-of-its-kind Disability Arts Festival running throughout the month of October. In fact, FRONTLINE Arts Festival already have one installation open to the public!

Our aim is to encourage as many people as possible to come and experience accessible art for all. We have a really varied programme, including dance residencies, art installations, multi-sensory workshops, comedy, spoken word and even a symposium. We are showcasing 50 disabled artists in and around Stoke on Trent.

When we say ‘accessible art for all’, we mean it. What we’re doing is truly unique as every single one of our events has at least one BSL interpreter present. You can find more information on access in our guide which is attached, or by visiting our festival website which you can find at the bottom of this post.

I wanted to bring your attention to a fantastic dance residency with deaf street dance artist, Billy Read. He has been teaching and coaching young dancers all over the country and we’re proud to bring him to FAF in Stoke on Trent. The residency is for young deaf dancers over half term with an opportunity to perform on the 1st November, all at the Mitchell Arts Centre. Our Eventbrite link is below with more detailed information and instructions on how to book.

In Billy’s own words “I want to motivate young artists by showing them that anyone can dance”

Please help us spread the word about our unique and jam-packed festival, but also this wonderful opportunity for young deaf artists who want to join Billy for half term week. We are working hard to show the people of Stoke on Trent, and the Midlands, that art is indeed accessible for everyone and hopefully setting a precedent for future festivals. In order to make this happen, we need (excuse the expression) bums on seats, and we’d love it if you could help us make that happen. I have included a few links for you to share below.

Thank you so much for your time,
