The six CCGs have been working more closely together for the last few years and one of the things they have been looking to do is to develop and align their clinical policies to ensure there is equity of provision across Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent.

At this stage, the CCGs are seeking views on five clinical policies (Assisted Conception, Hearing Loss in Adults, Removal of Excess Skin following significant weight loss, Breast Augmentation and Reconstruction and Male and Female Sterilisation) and the feedback from this exercise will help to develop options that will be put forward as part of a formal consultation.

The CCGs want to listen to the view of patients to understand the impact these services/treatments have on their lives and are encouraging people to share their experiences in a survey.

The survey is live until 23:59 on Sunday 1 March 2020 and can be accessed online via or paper versions are available on request. It is important to complete as many sub-sections of the survey depending on how many services/treatments you want to share your experiences of.

Local events are also being arranged and will give attendees the opportunity to ‘become a commissioner’ and take part in an interactive workshop of prioritising services and treatments. Events are being arranged and details will be shared shortly.

Results of the survey and feedback from the events will be independently analysed.  This will help the CCGs create a short list of viable options for access to these treatments across Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent, following which a formal consultation will then be held to gather feedback on these options.

If you have any questions about this engagement exercise, or would like to arrange a facilitated session to go through the survey with your network, group members or people you regularly see, please email or call 01785 854482.
